Werken tot je 70e wordt in dit land stilaan het nieuwe normaal. Het Planbureau heeft er nu ook de cijfers op geplakt.

Van de 230.000 jobs die er tussen 2027 en 2031 bijkomen, wordt meer dan een derde ingevuld door 65-plussers. Ruim 77.000 jobs, voor mensen die eigenlijk al met pensioen zouden mogen zijn. En volgens het rapport dat gisteren verscheen, is die trend het sterkst in Vlaanderen.

Je kan daar twee verhalen van maken.

Het mooie verhaal: mensen blijven langer actief, voelen zich nuttig, en sommigen werken graag door. Ik ken 70-jarigen die met meer goesting werken dan sommige 30-jarigen.

Het echte verhaal, voor velen: het pensioen volstaat niet. De rekeningen blijven komen en de indexering hinkt achterop. Doorwerken is dan geen keuze meer, het is de enige optie die overblijft.

En dat is precies het verschil waar het allemaal om draait. Werken op je 70e omdat je het graag doet, is een geschenk. Werken op je 70e omdat het moet, is een gemiste voorbereiding van 40 jaar eerder.

Aan de tafels bij Archer zie ik dagelijks hoe klein het verschil in het begin is. Wie op zijn 30e start met beleggen, bouwt tegen zijn 65e een vermogen op dat die keuze voor hem maakt.

België: 1 betaalde politicus per 371 inwoners.
Zwitserland: 1 per 1.630 inwoners.

Dat is geen democratie meer, dat is een politieke parasietenindustrie.
In Zwitserland doen de meeste parlementsleden hun job als bijbaan. Ze hebben een écht beroep, betalen zelf belastingen en blijven met beide voeten in de realiteit.
Geen fulltime graaiers die hun hele leven op de overheidsfles leven.
In België hebben we een leger van 10.000+ betaalde mandatarissen die met z’n allen aan de staatskassa hangen.
Van gemeenteraadsleden tot Europarlementsleden, allemaal met riante vergoedingen, pensioenen en extraatjes.
Resultaat?
✅ Zwitserland: lage belastingen, directe democratie, politici met gezond verstand
❌ België: hoogste politieke dichtheid van Europa, torenhoge belastingen en een kloof met de burger die steeds groter wordt
Dit is geen “vertegenwoordiging van het volk”.
Dit is een zelfbedieningsbuffet voor de politieke klasse.

De Zwitsers hebben het begrepen: politiek moet een dienst zijn, geen carrière.

In België blijven wij betalen voor deze
incompetentie.
Tijd om dat systeem eens grondig te ontmantelen.

Bitcoin will never go to zero. There’s plenty of use cases for bitcoin:

- heating your home
- heating your pool
- heating offices
- converting energy to digital numbers

(These examples are a little tongue in cheek but they’re true)

Think of anything that needs heating and if the hardware and running costs make sense economically, then mining bitcoin to produce that heat/energy makes sense. The use cases are endless.

What Bitcoin still needs to prove to the masses over the long term is to become a store of wealth, which can then be used to back a digital currency.

The dream is still alive, but it’s going to take many, many more years than most people believe or hope it will.

In the meantime, price is going to fluctuate a lot which produces very tradable ranges rather than doing the most common form of “investing”; that is buying the all time highs and hodling.

Follow the time cycles and make the most of it.

Steeds meer mensen kloppen bij mij aan: "Sid, is Europa nog te redden?" Iedereen krijgt bij deze een super wijze raad van mij. Europa is fucked: verlaat Europa.
De generatie die er nu aankomt, heeft basic technische skills niet. Een telefoongesprek is al te eng en te indringend. Door corona flut onderwijs gehad. Per jong persoon moeten ze 3 of 4 bejaarden op hun nek dragen. Laat staan geavanceerde technologieën als high filtration systems en atoomonderzeeërs gaande houden.
Komen nog bij: moslims die alles destabiliseren en voedselonveiligheid, energieonzekerheid. Oorlogen rond Oekraïne en Israël waarbij Europa min of meer alleen staat, want relaties met Rusland, Turkije en Iran zijn verzuurd. En de VS kan maar zo alle aandacht voor Europa verliezen wegens Taiwan, Venezuela of interne strijd tussen links en rechts met staten die afsplitsing overwegen.
Europa boert echt enorm hard achteruit en de meeste mensen in het 'publiek debat' zijn omringd door types met overheidsbaantjes die hun salaris direct uit de geldprinter van de ECB trekken. Die zijn de laatsten die het gaan voelen en daarom de meest slechte raadgevers.
En dan heb je Centraal- & Oost-Europa. Die nu dwars liggen maar zij gaan uiteindelijk de knie buigen want voor hen is de keuze: Brussel óf Moskou. En dan wordt 't toch de regenboogvlag van Brussel.

I can’t understand how everything became so extreme. Common sense has just vanished.

Sweden has taken in 2.5 million immigrants, despite having a population of only 10 million.

Immigrants can be paid up to $4,000 monthly per family, simply to exist.

We let immigrants spread gang violence with shootings and bombs exploding on a regular basis, and we barely do anything to stop it. Those who get caught often serve only a few years, if any, in prison.

Our justice system is weak. If you commit murder and are under 18 (which many gangs use minors to do), the punishment is almost nonexistent. For adults, a sentence of 15 years is the average. Fifteen years for taking a life. And for rape? A few years at most. And they usually don’t even get deported.

You will not get justice for smaller crimes, such as assault or fraud. The police cancel the investigation before it even starts, despite having all the evidence.

The media focuses more on "racism" than on murders, bombings, and rapes committed by immigrants.

They downplay the crimes committed by immigrants while highlighting crimes committed by White people to make immigrants seem like less of a problem.

The list goes on. It’s total madness, and anyone who opposes this is labeled as "right-wing”.
