@jamiegoode @KeithSJr_CS_AV Your point is well taken as it relates to new brands. I was talking about existing wineries, many of whom have had decades (and in some cases centuries) of brand exposure through marketing and more recently hospitality.
@jamiegoode @KeithSJr_CS_AV The "advantage of DTC" isn't simply price, it maintaining a direct and intimate relationship between your brand and it's most passionate customers. There are manifold marketing benefits to having and nurturing that relationship beyond immediate sales volume.

Fantastic tour and tasting this afternoon @tenutaterrenere, where they generously shared a 17 horizontal and a Caldera Sottana vertical. All delicious, but the San Lorenzo 17 was my personal favorite.

The ancient wine press (palmento) still in use today at I Vigneri, run by the inimitable Salvo Foti. Also tasted the delicious @AerisWines, toured the vineyards and saw the impressive new cellar that will be finished soon...

So many good wines on day 3 of #prowein2019 — @pibarnon Bandol rose Nuances 16, @emilio_moro Sanchomartin 15, #kopke 30-year-old white Tawny Port. But most special was @chateaumusar rouge 74. Lebanon meets Burgundy. Beautiful!
Top wines from #prowein2019 day 2 were from UGC tasting of 2016 vintage — tough competition, but my favorites were @ChateauSHL Smith Haut Lafitte and @ChateauGiraud Sauternes
