@DavidPetts1 My publisher asked me to take my thesis offline until after the monograph was published, as they were concerned it might affect sales. I’m not sure whether it ever was, as the PhD funders may have needed it to remain in public (I eventually lost track of that email thread).

Love it when I find extra stuff in magazines! In this Oct 1932 issue of Weldon’s Ladies’ Journal, newspaper clippings of photos from a Lord’s test (Eng vs WIndies) and instructions for dealing with a squeaky car. Now wondering who the reader was, what else they were reading etc.
@PrincessHamira@nt Suitable attire for a Fancy Dress Dance on board a P&O ferry? (Just found this menu in my collection and looking for an excuse to tweet it)
@veg_grower Oo I’ll have to find it! I did once see an ad for mail order STs promising that they would be delivered in a ‘discrete parcel’ so you wouldn’t have to walk through town with a ‘tell-tale package’ in your shopping bag…wish I could find it again!
Check out this amazing page of period products, in a 1940s mail order catalogue. Includes washable towels, period pants, and burnable envelopes for travelling.
Triturated Beef and Vegetable Weaning Food, anyone? Babies love it’s flavour apparently, and even “your husband” can make it! @sartorialfoodie thought you might enjoy this, @LisaHaushofer
