UPDATE: Uganda Police have announced that traffic movement will be restricted nationwide from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, to allow for the National Cleaning Day exercise.

Only emergency services, security vehicles on official duty and cross-border traffic along major transport corridors will be exempt from the restrictions.

NEMA FORMULATES A TECHNICAL COMMITTEE ON MANAGEMENT OF CHEMICALS IN UGANDA

Speaking during the first meeting of technical committee on chemical management in Uganda, the Executive Director of NEMA, Dr. @ABarirega stated the committee will help to harmonise all other regulations from other government sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing and others.

NEMA remains impartial in its operations against degradation. Please note that protection of the environment is a collective responsibility. Citizens must be responsible enough to know that constructing in wetlands is not only illegal but destructive to the environment. This case already with us and procedures to halt the development in area and restore the ecosystem is already being undertaken.
