This week we are reading and discussing the book 'The Last Tree' in our oracy sessions. We discussed the statement 'A wall makes you feel safe' on Monday and on Wednesday we talked about why we need trees. Super oracy skills everyone!

On our walk we met a man who said how great we all were! We certainly were a credit to our school.

We enjoyed our walk around Charlton Kings today - no rain! We looked at the features of the area - some we had seen before and some we hadn't. We are very lucky to live here.

Freddie brought in his dad's backpack today as we've been learning about continents in our dragon topic. He told us so much about the places his dad had been and answered many questions his classmates had about places his dad had seen. Well done Freddie!

Today we visited St Mary's Church for 'Experience Christmas'. We were told the story of Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus and their journey to Bethlehem.

During our oracy lesson today, we thought about 'If we were King or Queen for a day, what would we ban?' What would you ban and why? We had interesting discussions in our talking trios.

We turned into news reporter this week to write about what had happened. We heard from witnesses and have some ideas about what it could be. We've come to the conclusion it could be a dragon!!

Strange things have been happening at CKIS this week! Three unusual eggs were found and there were sightings of a peculiar creature flying near the church! What could it have been? Have you seen anything?

Some of the class have made sock puppets. They look amazing! Much friendlier and cleaner than the ones in 1665!

Oracy time
Violet Class enjoyed having conversations with different members of the class today. There were lively conversations where children found out lots about their friends that they didn't know before!

London's Burning! London's Burning! What a start to our year that was! We watched as London burned on our playground. We're going to be learning a great deal about London in 1666 this term.

We got soaked! Luckily we brought in dry clothes! It was such a laugh!
