Empowering children and adolescents with visual impairments through personalised care, smart digital tools, and ethical AI.
Funded by HORIZON-Europe programme.
At the #VIPPSTAR Consortium Meeting, stakeholder activities, technology demonstrations, and practical discussions kept people and real life experiences at the centre of innovation.
👇 Watch a few moments from these two inspiring days!
Giacomo #Bertagnolli: “Physical activity is not only about performance. It is also about participation, relationships, and independence. What sport gave me the most was the opportunity to develop qualities that helped me grow not only as an athlete, but also as a person.”
💡 The #VIPPSTAR Consortium Meeting now moves into the stakeholder session, focusing on perspectives, experiences, and expectations from organisations and professionals working directly with #VisuallyImpaired persons.
Jessica Toigo: “Sport helped me build confidence, autonomy, and trust in my own abilities. Children have the right to play, move, and explore freely, and families should support and encourage this by following each child’s own interests and inclinations. Vision is not a limit.”
🔎 From research to practice: preliminary VIPPSTAR results are already taking shape.
This afternoon’s VIPPSTAR Corners showcased tools and technologies currently being developed within the project, from #AI and #EyeTracking to #telerehabilitation and #accessible digital tools.
@Danielecassioli “It’s important to make reality more engaging for children with visual impairments and help parents understand that their children need to move. Physical activity is also a way to build connections with others.
