ViRAL is a virtual reality social simulator for physical and psychological 1st-person experiences of doping. The project aims to promote sports integrity.
Last week, we hosted the final #ViRAL multiplier event – Enno Winkler presented the project to a diverse audience in Germany. He introduced the potential of our developed app that addresses a void in #dopingprevention interventions with its immersive approach.
On 3 November, we met for our final #ViRAL project meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece! We worked hard to finalise the last tasks and discussed future perspectives. But there was also time to socialise and enjoy Greek cuisine. Huge thanks to our host @VBarkoukis from @Aristoteleio!
In early November, Professor @ElbeAnne visited the University of Thessaly in Greece, where she gave a lecture on #antidoping to first-year students in the European Master's program in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Additionally, she introduced them to the #ViRAL project.
Yesterday, we hosted a multiplier event at @UniLeipzig! Enno Winkler (@SpoPsyLe) presented the #ViRAL project to colleagues from the University of Copenhagen (@UCPH_Research), Denmark 🇩🇰.
We spent an exciting time in France at the @E_C_S_S Congress in Paris 🇫🇷 During an Invited Symposium, Prof @ElbeAnne, Dr Lambros Lazarus, and Dr @VBarkoukis presented our ViRAL project. We enjoyed a lively discussion and many interesting questions about our research! #ECSS2023

Last week’s PhD defense was the perfect opportunity to inform about ViRAL. Congratulations to Marcus Melzer for successfully defending his thesis entitled "Beyond a Social-Cognitive Perspective on Doping - Towards an Integrative Model of Person−Situation Interactions".
We hosted a large dissemination event for our ViRAL project with a presentation by Theresa Manges and Enno Winkler. We are happy that also many of our master's students attended – also from @uth_gr in Thessaly – and are keen on participating in the #virtualreality game.
At @E_C_S_S Congress in Paris @VBarkoukis will talk about our ViRAL project in his presentation 'Anti-doping education: existing evidence and future trends'. Presentation date is 6 July!
In her sport psychology lecture at @UniLeipzig, Professor Anne-Marie Elbe introduced the ViRAL project to her bachelor students. She also invited the undergrads to participate in testing the #virtualreality game.

Yesterday, we met at @UniLeipzig for our interim project meeting. We successfully discussed planning, strategy, quality control, and the next steps for developing the #ViRAL#DopingPrevention game. We also had a lot of fun exploring #virtualrealitygames with a #VR headset.
We are very glad to have been able to get together for our first in-person project meeting in Copenhagen yesterday. It has been such an inspiring experience to discuss the scenarios for #ViRAL, our #VirtualReality#DopingPrevention program.
