Following the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, #VirtualPride will be a FREE online festival celebrating the UK's #LGBT+ community ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Saturday 23rd May 2020!
@MrDanielBrowne@BristolPride@CumbriaPride@MertonPride@NorwichPride @WSMPRIDE We've answered all your questions above. We are the only Merton Pride with a website and social media channels and do not know of any other that may have been set up over the past few months. We will be organising @MertonPride 2021.
We are a team of LGBT+ people and allies.
@MrDanielBrowne As clearly stated on our website and Just Giving page an equal share will go to Pride events taking part in Virtual Pride.
These are:
@BristolPride@CumbriaPride@MertonPride@NorwichPride
@WSMPRIDE
This is a fundraising event which we have received tremendous support for.
@MrDanielBrowne No, as explained above, an equal percentage will go to Merton Pride not the theatre.
Thank you for your concerns and support and we're really looking forward to this special event for our community and beyond ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
@MrDanielBrowne All performers and Pride organisations on our poster have confirmed they will be a part of Virtual Pride and are as we have received footage from all.
As we previously mentioned we are a team of six organisers, both LGBT+ and allies looking to raise spirits during this time. 2/2
@MrDanielBrowne The charity number on our website is for a charity theatre who were the original organisers of Merton Pride, along with a local LGBT+ committee. An equal percentage of money raised will go to Merton Pride, not the theatre. We will make this clear tomorrow on our website. 1/2
@MrDanielBrowne We are incredibly proud of the work we have done in very short notice during these very tough times to produce this event for our community and beyond. We have tried to be as transparent as possible on our website. We hope we've answered all your concerns. 2/2
@MrDanielBrowne Hi Daniel,
As our website states we are a small team of LGBT+ people and allies. Virtual Pride is not a charity because we could not have set up a charity in less than two months, so instead we are a vehicle to raise funds for other Pride organisations which are charities. 1/2
