The perfect example of why our country is screwed in every way.
- gets triple lock
- Wants social care, doesn’t want to pay for it.
- ‘you can find the money somewhere else’. Tax someone else not me
- RJ using something that’s not even a policy yet to score political points
There is a risk that awake tracheal intubation is becoming increasingly viewed as a 'high acuity, low occurrence' (HALO) event.
This is likely due to a self-reinforcing cycle of reduced awareness of indications and guidelines + reduced exposure and practice + VL.

@DrEilidhMaria@nightflightdan You’re right - but repeated exposure to similar content from various angles (book, podcast, schematics, mcq bank, etc), coupled with deliberate repetition (write down notes, mnemonics, draw key diagrams) is the key to success.
The media coverage of our @ImperialMed paper today was everything I could possibly hope for having spent many years raising awareness around early-onset type 2 diabetes
I am so very grateful to my co-authors and to everyone who recognised the importance of the work 🙏🏼🙏🏼
We were showcased by #BBCNews, #ITN, #Womenshour on Radio 4, BBC #radio5Live and #TimesRadio to name a few plus many newspapers
Here I am looking earnest on ITN news this lunch time! And of course a selfie with the lovely Nina Hossein - amazing experience!
Quite a problematic study actually. Not sure that you can brush away as a minor limitation the fact that no adjustment for primary qualification was even attempted.
Also look at those denominators… there’s the giveaway.
#BMJExclusive Black and Asian doctors in the UK are up to 30 times less likely to be offered medical training posts in some specialties than white candidates, shows data published exclusively by The BMJ today.

Of all the issues we face this is the one I least care about. In years of training I somehow managed to pack food for my shift. I’d rather the focus went into countless other ventures that would have a far greater impact for way less cost than providing a jacket potato at 1am.
I will accept Nigel Farage’s request to be appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead.
It is a farce and a desperate distraction, and the people of Clacton deserve better.
But if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won't stop him.
@MidwivesRCM No apology. No recognition that your policy of emphasising ‘natural birth’ over safe birth has contributed to a maternity disaster. Nothing will change until organisations like this admit their failings instead of claiming the review shows they were correct. Pathetic.
Reducing the conclusions of the report to 'a refusal to listen to midwives' is appalling and misleading.
No acknowledgement of the fact midwives were largely the ones who CAUSED the harm with racist behavior, refusal to listen to women and refusal to escalate care.
@bbcnickrobinson I remember the way journalists used to fawn over Boris Johnson, someone who should never have been anywhere near any kind of public office. The cult of personality blinded journalists to his obvious failings.
@Shr_Nottingham I honestly think it's a bit dead, no? There's no real alternative to Twitter for this sort of communication.
Maybe we just need a couple of years off the socials, touch some grass, go to some conferences and chat with our colleagues, and then something else will happen. Later.
