Albert sneered at him, scoffing and turning his back to the lord for a moment and staring off into the distance. He wouldn't fight back if Vittorio struck him in return.
"It doesn't matter what we want. Not anymore."
Most humans were, to him, exactly nothing more than that. Toys. Test subjects. Though the Fog had changed him a bit. It wasn't his game. His rules. He felt a puppet sometimes, knowing that someday, if the Entity was ever displeased enough, it might be him on a hook. ~

But Vittorio's comment got under his skin. For years of his life, he'd been nothing but a lab rat for others and he was one again.
