Did you know?

On Feb 14, 1995, Nelson Mandela inaugurated the Constitutional Court of South Africa—marking a historic step in our nation’s journey toward justice and democracy. 🇿🇦

The Court’s judges later chose ConHill as its permanent home. In April 1998, Mandela returned to the Old Fort to announce the winner of the architectural competition that would shape the Court’s future.

Then, in 2003, as a free citizen and former President, Mandela visited Constitution Hill once more to witness the construction of the Court and view the site of the powerful permanent exhibition, “Prisoner Working in a Garden.”
