The flowering season of yellow floating heart (Nymphoides peltata) runs from early summer through late October, making this a lovely time to catch the blooms.

On sunny days, the flowers usually open between 7:00–9:30 AM and begin to close around 2:00–3:00 PM. On cloudy days, they may open later, with a shorter viewing window.

After visiting the Suzhou Museum West Branch, we made a little stop at Gu Su Qiao, a lovely noodle shop nearby. 🍜🌿
Recently selected in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, Gu Su Qiao impressed me not only with its authentic Suzhou flavors, but also with its beautiful setting.
The interior feels like stepping into an old Suzhou residence — traditional architecture, elegant details, and a garden just outside. It almost feels like you’re having a bowl of noodles in a historic home surrounded by greenery.

More than 600 paddlers from around the world have gathered in Suzhou for three days of competition on the city’s historic waterways.
