It's so easy to forget how much of an impact we have on the world around us.
Check out how beautiful Alaska is and the fear they have with a new mine soon to come.

According to the UN's top climate official @PEspinosaC, governments meeting at #COP26 built a bridge between good intentions and measurable actions to tackle climate change, and acheived results in 4 key areas. Read about them here:

Planting 20,000,000 trees is something only @MrBeast could do.
He fundraised money from big creators & everyday people like us to inspire people to plant, nurture & celebrate trees throughout the world. After all, we need them!
It starts with you!🌳

I’m starting a social movement to bring awareness to climate change.
Human activities have increased the concentration of greenhouse gases in Earth’s atmosphere, warming the planet. Pushing sustainability efforts, is the fix.
It starts with you!

In a way, I feel like the business side of things is so much more calculated, that's why we refer to it as 'speaking up' rather than just being open to different ideas. This is really obvious in politics – everything is calculated to get your point across & get the votes.
Something simple that was brought up that I think everyone can reflect on, was our speech climate- "in the business world it's called speak up culture, in the academic world it's called just basic opens to ideas". Do you think there should be a difference?

@morganjjjones Open conversations are great to get minds together in a positive way. If we just continue to allow people to have a safe space to speak freely about change, then I think we will be better off.
@Nathan_Booth2 I think that this should be more universal as well because ultimately all it does is affect the students when a bad teacher sticks around. We just have to figure out a way that works for every university so we can start making a change!
I think that when it comes to politics, we are still constantly learning what we can do better to get people to agree with our standpoints, or even the opposite. There is a big difference between just saying something online and making it transform in the physical world.
Sometimes our meaning behind what we are typing, gets lost in the digital age! From the article, 'How the digital age is reshaping politics', we are still learning “how to translate this online experience back to the physical world, and how to…make it meaningful again".
@Akatsnow I really like this quote too! I feel like it is so east for people to just rant and be so hateful towards others. So now, we really have to change the way we are talking so it's not just directed anger and more of a solution.
It's so sad seeing the little girl be so affected by social media/her phone usage on The Social Dilemma.
When she looks in the mirror she no longer sees herself- she sees what she wishes she was comparing herself to these unrealistic standards of beauty.

Overall the addiction that social media creates within us comes down to money. Per The Social Dilemma there is a new level to what big companies will do to get us to become more and more reliant on our phones.
When will it stop?

The Social Dilemma did a great job depicting both sides of our generation in the 'phones at dinnertime' scene, where one child wanted to just have a normal dinner while being unplugged and the other is completely intertwined with their phone.

Tristan Harris shined a light on the negative affects of 'the addictiveness' of what google was creating, and while many of his colleagues agreed with him- even the CEO, yet nothing was done to make a change.

The @SocialDilemma_ provides such a unique take on social media and presents the background on what we use daily.
Scary to think that all of the people who have aided in making meaningful changes to our digital world, are concerned of what this will lead us to.

Have you ever wondered how Disney continues to be the happiest place on earth?
Disney has quietly been investing in big data applications for decades, to be able to use our movements, purchases and interests to tailor the park to what we like!
Crazy!
