@DavidF1344@VivekGRamaswamy Ohioians want furnace and semiconductor fabs which employ way more people than data centers. Don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
There’s no successful civil rights movement in American history that has not had to be strategic. There’s zero reason for trans women to focus so much political capital on defending our participation in women’s sports.
First of all, sports have never been the natural domain of the thin, awkward boys that desperately want to be girls. There’s a reason there are not even 100 professional trans athletes in America. It’s just not something many actual trans women are good at.
Secondly, if you’re interested in physically improving your body, there are plenty of non-competitive ways to do this. There’s no reason to not take dance class, Pilates, yoga. In fact, these opportunities are going to help socialize you a billion times better than a situation where many of your peers are going to perceive you as cheating.
Thirdly, there’s a reason our enemies want to talk about it so much. It’s one of the few domains they can win in. Polls show most Americans support our access to healthcare and non-discrimination. They do not support us playing against natal women in professional sports.
Every single trans woman in America benefits from access to gender affirming care. Every trans woman benefits from legal access to gender change contingent on irreversible medicalization. We should focus our efforts on policies that benefit everyone, not just a few dozen people.
In the spirit of my current techno-pessimism, I would rather the Union Pacific/norfolk southern railway merger happen and reduce the number of semi-trucks on the road than move to driverless semi-trucks.
we can either give trucking jobs to robots or human railroad workers.
Like I said, Biden handed Trump a strong and growing economy and Trump drove it right into a fucking ditch while everyone in the media ignored it b/c they were more interested in maintaining access to him than doing their fucking jobs.
