A young boy in Gujarat lost his father when he was just 5 years old. His mother raised him alone in Ahmedabad, struggling to make ends meet.
As a young boy, he had only one pair of shoes and a single T shirt. He washed the T Shirt every night, so he could wear it again the next day.
With no fancy facilities, he taught himself to bowl on the streets of Ahmedabad, developing the characteristic slingy action the world now recognizes instantly.
In 2012, a video of his bowling caught the eye of John Wright, who was then working as a talent scout and coach for the Mumbai Indians, and he was called for trials.
In 2013, he was picked by Mumbai Indians in the IPL. A skinny young fast bowler with a strange action… but incredible talent.
During the early years of the player's IPL career with the Mumbai Indians, Mitchell Johnson noticed his unusual bowling action and raw pace during practice.
Johnson, who used ASICS shoes himself, gifted the player a pair of ASICS bowling shoes.
His first pair of high quality shoes.
Years later, the same boy who once struggled to afford shoes became a global ambassador for ASICS.
From IPL newcomer to India’s strike bowler, he went on to take 400+ international wickets and become one of the most feared fast bowlers in the world.
And today, that boy from Ahmedabad stands tall as a T20 World Cup 2026 champion for India.
The World knows him as Jasprit Bumrah.🔥🔥🔥
Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Tarun Kumar in Uttam Nagar. It’s heartbreaking that something as small as a child throwing a water balloon during Holi could escalate into such violence. Humanity should never fall to this level. Prayers for his family and hope the culprits face the strictest punishment.
Kids were playing Holi in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar. An 11 yo girl threw a water balloon from her roof toward her father standing on the road below. The balloon burst on the street; a few stray droplets splashed a nearby woman from the Muslim community.
Woman got angry. An argument followed. The girl’s family apologised. By all accounts, the matter seemed over. But apparently, it wasn’t.
About half an hour later, a mob, armed with bricks, stones and iron rods, arrived and attacked the girl's family. In the assault, Tarun (pictured), a young man, was killed and four others were injured.
Killing someone over an accidental splash of water, one that had already been apologised for, cannot plausibly be explained by that moment alone. When violence erupts with such speed and ferocity, it suggests that something far deeper than the stated trigger was waiting just beneath the surface.
Only this? Not ashamed as a human over this? No ideological or communal framing? Words like communal minds, insane bigotry, systematic radicalization?
I mean, I’ve seen you use that kind of language over far more trivial issues. But here you are settling for “whoever did this should be given the harshest punishment,” which basically reduces the whole matter to a routine law-and-order statement.
To Dalit brothers and sisters,
I do not deny atrocities. I have seen them with my own eyes when I was a child. I have seen Dalits living on the outskirts of our village. I have heard derogatory words like chooda and chamaar being used openly for them. I remember that when they visited others’ homes, they were made to sit on the floor. At that age, I did not fully understand what was happening, but with time, I understood how deeply unjust it was.
I condemn such treatment in the strongest possible terms; it is inhuman, crude, and shameful. Anyone who practices or supports such behaviour today deserves severe punishment.
At the same time, it is also true that the overwhelming majority of present-day GC and OBC families neither practice nor support such discrimination. And the system, in its quest to overcorrect, has created a structure that by default treats every GC/OBC individual as casteist criminal unless proven otherwise, which is also unfair.
One cannot morally or rationally justify harassing the present generation for injustices committed in the past. Holding people accountable for actions they neither committed nor endorsed converts the struggle against historical injustice into a new form of injustice.
Historical wrongs must be acknowledged and corrected through institutional reform, equal opportunity, and restoration of dignity, not through social revenge that sustains perpetual hostility instead of reconciliation.
This is why I support the Atrocities Act but oppose the absence of provisions against misuse. Punish those who commit crimes, but ensure that innocents are not targeted as a form of revenge. The same applies to UGC regulations. That is the basis of the opposition.

A thinly veiled seditious call not just rejecting India and its laws and ethos but also exhorting fellow-Muslims to reject infidelian thoughts, by a man invited and hailed by @TheLallantop as a great scholar.
Whatever next - invite Hafiz Saeed and call him the next Dalai Lama?
88 painful years after Nehru, acceding to Jinnah's demand, excised it from Vande Mataram, a sitting Prime minister of India proudly sings the sacred paragraph that invokes Goddess Durga. They are not words, they are our history, they are our destiny.
Thank you, @narendramodi.
Read this absolute horror story:
In June 2017, a minor girl accused Unnao BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of rape, but the police refused to register an FIR. After months of inaction, in April 2018, the girl attempted suicide by self-immolation outside the CM’s residence, which finally forced the authorities to file the FIR.
Meanwhile, her father was arrested on false charges and reportedly assaulted in police custody; he later died in hospital due to his injuries. Public outrage followed. Even before any proper investigation had begun, a key witness in this mysterious custodial death was also found dead.
The case was eventually transferred to the CBI. The CBI concluded that the girl’s father died due to injuries inflicted in custody and that the assault was connected to an attempt to pressure and intimidate the victim’s family.
In July 2019, while the victim was travelling to court with her two aunts and lawyer, their car was hit by a truck, killing both her aunts and leaving the victim and the lawyer critically injured, an incident later treated as a deliberate attempt to silence witnesses.
In December 2019, Sengar was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment, but by then the victim’s family had already paid an irreparable price. The Unnao rape case had all the elements of an 80s–90s Bollywood villain plot: systemic intimidation, blatant abuse of power, and a trail of destruction that went far beyond the crime itself. But worse was still to come.
Yesterday, the Delhi High Court suspended the jail term and granted bail to Sengar. This is nothing but salt rubbed into the wounds of whatever little the victim’s family has left. An absolute disgrace. After everything they endured, this feels like the system mocking them. Shameful beyond words, and everyone should raise their voice against this.
As we celebrate #VijayDiwas may I request u to listen to plight of parents of Martyrs, thousands of whom are suffering as all benefits were given to daughter-in-law while they don't even get medical facilities!! How fair is it to treat parents like this ? @adgpi@rajnathsingh

Joining BJP is legal and democratic, rather than joining Jaish e Muhammad’s “intellectual sleeper cell”.
People against our own Bharat Mata should not preach about intellectual honesty. Aditya Dhar’s success is visible in the reaction of the masses in support of #Dhurandhar.

Indian married women are protected under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 for any form of sexual abuse, coercion, or forced intimacy within marriage.
Creating a brand-new provision will only open the door to the kind of misuse we repeatedly see in divorce or custody battles, just as dowry laws, domestic-violence complaints, or unnatural sex allegations are weaponised during separation.
How is a husband expected to prove that a sexual act was consensual if, years later, after the relationship has soured, the wife retrospectively alleges rape? Consent within a marriage is inherently private, undocumented, and impossible to verify after time has passed. There are already too many provisions to harass a man during divorce proceedings. Don’t add one more.
A 13-year-old boy, a national-level skater with six medals, made a childish mistake.
He brought a phone to school, recorded a class video, and uploaded it. A minor lapse, not a crime. But the Principal behaved as if she were some colonial-era viceroy dispensing punishments, not an educator handling a teenager.
Instead of guiding him, she threatened to “end his career,” “take away his medals,” and suspend him, punishments entirely disproportionate to the mistake.
The boy apologised 52 times in four minutes, but the Principal, consumed by her own sense of authority, didn’t show a shred of empathy. No patience, no corrective instinct, no understanding, just the arrogant, self-important behaviour that too many Indians slip into the moment they get a chair and a nameplate.
Humiliated and terrified, the child jumped from the third floor. He survived, but he has fractures in both legs, spinal injuries, and more. His future in skating is uncertain now.

A street-dog feeders’ group organised a survey within themselves claiming that 91% of Indians feel safer because of street dogs, and Shekhar Gupta published it in ThePrint as a new landmark survey.
It’s like a communist students’ group conducting a poll among themselves and claiming that 91% of Indians want Comrade Akshay to get the Bharat Ratna for bravely withstanding the pressing brutalities of the Delhi Police, and then publishing it in The Wire.
