one time i impulsively purchased one of these at the grocery store bc i was so enchanted by its aura but I couldn't bring myself to eat it bc I'd grown too attached so i gave it to my dad and asked him to eat it out of my sight
but when i tell people they should be taking that energy of yearning for someone and transmuting it to create something or develop a fulfilling hobby they look at me like im crazy
“Romantic love” in relation to one tunnel expectations & scripts about marriage/ cohabitation is social construct.
It’s a hijacking of high intensity attractions in their purest & rawest forms for the sake of social order.
the reason ppl feel their friendships simply& inherently cannot offer a level of intimacy or fulfillment that their romantic relationships can is bc they likely haven’t investigated their ideals around romantic relationships& the drive to place them at a top of the hierarchy
there's nothing inherent about romantic love that makes it special and leave a hole in your life that cannot be fulfilled by any other sort of connection. you just need to surround yourself with other people who have also decentered romance in their lives. it works i promise
time to think, ponder, wander, process, ideate, conjecture, and wonder have been the most rewarding part of this time for me lol. i know this will come to an end at some point so im grateful for what it is while it's here.
love. love for self. love for friends. love for music. love for art. love for romance. love for community. love for learning. love for the prospect of a better world.
it's been snowing like 3 days straight so we've been movie marathoning: pride and prejudice, before trilogy, lotr trilogy. conclusion is: we are in a charming man deficient world rn
