Bengaluru-based GenAI startup @SarvamAI will be reportedly open sourcing the models it is training under the IndiaAI Mission. 👇

At an open source software meeting at IIT Delhi, IndiaAI Mission chief executive Abhishek Singh said that the LLMs sponsored by the central government will be made open source.

Sarvam, which is building India’s first homegrown sovereign LLM, has confirmed the development to ET. The AI startup’s cofounder Vivek Raghavan said that the open sourcing will be done under permissible licences.

Sarvam has received the highest subsidy allocated under the IndiaAI Mission so far at INR 98.68 Cr against a bill of INR 246.71 Cr for access to 4,096 Nvidia H100 GPUs for six months, the report said citing IndiaAI website.

When Anwaya was born with a cleft lip, her parents, Greeshma and Hani, were overwhelmed with fear. The ultrasound hadn’t detected her cleft. The hospital didn’t offer cleft care. Surgery felt impossible.

But hope arrived in the form of a family friend and a referral to Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute in Thrissur. There, they found Smile Train, an organisation that supports free cleft surgeries and supports families through every step.

Anwaya had her first surgery at 6 months, followed by a palate surgery. With speech therapy, her speech gradually improved. She developed a love for singing and took it up as a hobby.

At just 5 years old, she was even selected for a Malayalam kids’ reality show and went on to win several singing awards.
