Senate Republicans have spent years behaving as though Democrats still respect the same institutional limits they claim to defend.
They do not.
Democrats have supported packing the Supreme Court, eliminating the legislative filibuster, federalizing election rules, weakening voter identification requirements, and using executive power whenever Congress refuses to give them what they want.
Yet Republicans still approach every confrontation as though preserving Senate traditions matters more than delivering results.
Conservative voters are tired of hearing that Republicans cannot act because Democrats might object. They are tired of electing majorities that seem terrified of using majority power.
A Senate majority is supposed to set the agenda, force votes, expose obstruction, and make the opposition publicly defend its actions. Republicans should keep bringing essential legislation to the floor and make every Democrat explain why military readiness, troop support, border security, and government funding should be sacrificed for partisan leverage.
Leadership is not issuing another disappointed statement after Democrats block a bill. Leadership means creating consequences for obstruction.
The Republican base has watched Democrats use every available tool when they control Washington. It is reasonable for voters to expect Republicans to show the same determination when they are entrusted with power.
Are Republicans protecting Senate traditions, or are they using those traditions as an excuse for failing to deliver?
