Armando Iannucci, "Child poverty has gone up yet again. And it's almost like we're in a Dickens novel rather than the 6th biggest economy in the world" @Aiannucci
"So at the moment, we're in a situation where we're actually coming up with policies that are putting more people into poverty and therefore having a greater impact and detriment to the economy because of it"
Unbelievable that an MP, Peter Bone, was under party investigation for sexual misconduct but was appointed deputy leader of the House of Commons by Boris Johnson — at a time when parliament was embroiled in the Pestminster scandal.
A former No10 aide said “it’s certainly the case that Johnson did not regard unproven allegations, even those as serious as this, as a bar to office”!!
BUT - the complainant’s father first raised the issue in *2015* when Cameron was PM, followed by a formal complaint in 2017. The complainant initially decided not to continue with the process, after being told Bone would be able to conduct a cross examination - The whole system stinks!
@Philippa_Perry Yes you have upset a lot of people. I think it deserves more than a ‘oh dear’ moment comment followed by your proposed reasoning which in my mind still fails to justify your assertions. Have to say I expected more from you.
Russell Brand has known this day was coming for him since October 2017. Since then, he’s strategically cultivated and groomed a new mentally-malleable cult following that distrusts both women and the media so he can continue getting high on his other drug of choice — the spotlight.
This creator here knocks it out of the park.
Thought For The Day: This is a factual and accurate account of what has happened re Farage & Coutts, and yet if @maitlis was sitting in a BBC studio she would not be allowed to say it. #r4today
Truly awful interview from @michaelgove contorting himself to defend Govt allowing Johnson to hand out honours & peerages, going on about precedent despite unprecedented rogue exPM. And shocking that he fails to condemn those Tories who have attacked privileges committee #r4today
They bombed a shelter for disabled children.. If this doesn't rip your soul into a thousand pieces, then you must be an #israeli.
Humanity is doomed to hell for allowing this to happen.. LQQk 👇
Jenrick is a Govt minister
Jenrick went on TV
Jenrick told a big lie
Jenrick therefore broke ministerial code & a Nolan principle
Jenrick will face no consequences because our political system requires our unaccountable PM to hold him to account.
Millionaire Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg collected £32,083.34 from GB news for one month's work = £802 an hour.
Also gets £87k+exps as a part-time MP.
He wants to abolish the minimum wage, paid holidays, equal pay & maternity rights.
Who would vote for him?
