'Wages aren't causing inflation... People aren't buying too many things; there is no excess demand in the system.
'Because of this, raising #InterestRates - which aims to 'tame demand' - not only won't work; it risks triggering recession'

@Shinku_Shun @beanboy715 @adam4indy@soliteire@voltron19849@BBCNews I think as one of the biggest economies in the world we can survive without the Wills and Kate tea cosies, not to mention the fact that our political and financial systems shouldn’t revolve around one family.
@Shinku_Shun @beanboy715 @adam4indy@soliteire@voltron19849@BBCNews Their private art collection, much of it stolen through colonialism or gifts from colourful characters like Hitler, is worth more than enough to get rid of them for a good long while. Then look at private property and one begins to wonder what makes these people so entitled.
@Nimble_Pumpkin@BBCr4today@BBCPolitics ...Whataboutism - I’ll bite. I would if I had the means to do so. Even so, I justify it by the fact that if I invest money in my education and career prospects now, in time I can make a greater contribution to lives worth more than 30% of what I make now.
@Nimble_Pumpkin@BBCr4today@BBCPolitics Ending starvation by 2030 worldwide would cost $330b apparently. We just gave Dido Harding over 10% of that to spaff up the wall. That came at a cost of almost 3 years worth of international aid. We’re making cuts in the wrong places.
@Nimble_Pumpkin@BBCr4today@BBCPolitics That’s a short-sighted way of looking at it. There’s a reason why China spends almost $50b in these places, as they understand that there’s a lot to gain by helping lift these people out of poverty. Plus the fact that not letting people starve to death is basic human decency.
@geezermate@anne_clarke@BarnetCouncil No need to apologise. I was actually in Colindale yesterday and the driving is awful, I even saw a guy on a motorbike get knocked over outside Morrisons. I just wish things were consistent across the borough.
@geezermate@anne_clarke@BarnetCouncil Where in Barnet do you live? Over here in East Finchley it’s constant traffic due to lanes being removed to make way for bikes & buses. There’s no space to speed even if one wanted to.
