Police are on the manhunt for two young girls, believed to be between the ages of 10 and 16, who are suspected of stealing GHS 40,000 and gold from a business gold-buying agent at Twifo Praso in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District of the Central Region.
Reports and CCTV footage indicate that the two girls visited the shop around 11 a.m. yesterday to purchase mercury for gold extraction. Upon arriving and realizing that the shop attendant was away, the older girl quickly searched a drawer and stole GHS 40,000 and gold.
The girls, just at the entrance of the shop, encountered the attendant, after which they returned to make the mercury purchase. It wasnโt until two hours later, when another customer came in to sell gold, that the shop attendant discovered the money and gold were missing.
