Today on @Sensible__Med we (@drjohnm @DrJMarine ) consider a recent @nature paper that uses AI to identify patients who should have an ICD placed.

5. In order for the algorithm to save lives, people identified by the algorithm can't develop an ICD indication (and get one) later. You don't save lives if you would have identified the person for ICD later in course of illness, but before SCD.
