Day 17 of #MarchMATness2020 is #ShoulderBridge. I started with a #SpineCurl to give my spine a lovely bit of movement then progressed to shoulder bridge challenge. The aim is to avoid the hips dipping so find connection with your core to gain control.
Day 16 of #MarchMATness2020 is #Scissors and #Bicycle. Such fun exercises! Tough on the wrists and arms but great challenge to avoid twisting the spine and just let the legs move! The key is to have the hands on the small of the back and let the pelvis βsitβ in the hands.
Day 15 of #MarchMATness2020 is #Neckpull. The aim is to try to keep the spine lengthened and not collapse as you roll up and down. Keeping the back of the neck long and connected into the hands will help to lift and avoid collapsing.
Day 14 of #MarchMATness2020 is #DoueLegKick. I love this exercise for the wonderful stretch you get when you pull up in the extension, feels so lovely on the back and shoulders.
Day 12 of #MarchMATness2020 is #Swandive. The idea is to try to keep your extended position using your back muscles rather than you hands. Aiming for a long even curve and not throwing the head back or dipping into the low spine.
So great to work in extension!
Day 11 of #MarchMATness2020 is #Saw. A great exercise to help stretch out your spine. The idea is to keep the pelvis as stable as possible, mineβs not perfect but I felt a little tight in my hamstrings today so that was making it harder π always a practice!
Day 10 of #MarchMATness2020 is #Corkscrew.
The aim is to roll up and then down one side of the spine at a time, so adding a little rotation makes it all the more tricky to keep control! A nice challenge for your obliques to start waking up π (your side abdominals).
Day 9 of #MarchMATness2020 is #RockerWithOpenLegs. A real challenging exercise to test your control and balance. The tendency is to fold at the hips and bring the legs towards the body but its key to keep the connection between legs and arms to maintain balance.
Day 8 of #MarchMATness2020 is #SpineStretch. Essentially does what it says, feels so great! However the main focus is to lengthen the spine forward and pull the core back to avoid just simply folding at the hips.
Day 7 of #MarchMATness2020 is #DoubleLegStretch. A really challenging exercise for the core, extending both arms and legs away from the midline whilst keeping the upper spine flexed is tough and it requires you to focus and make sure you use your breath too π¬
