Our program of transformation and metamorphosis is carried on in Ira Hearshen's "After the Thunderer," which develops themes from Sousa's "The Thunderer" and orchestrates them through a Mahlerian finale style. Come to the Mac or livestream this at 3pm on Sunday!
Our program will feature Andrew Boss's "à la Machaut," a piece that draws on themes from the renowned Medieval composer, Guillaume de Machaut. Boss explores the possibilities of ancient choral music in a modern setting and the transformation of Machaut's themes across the work.
Our 1st piece on Sunday's program is "Through the Looking-Glass" by Jess Turner. Turner drew inspiration from Lewis Carol's book of the same title and both works feature an increasingly distorted view as they develop. Don't miss this adventurous opener!
