VT Corps of Cadets

The @Virginia_Tech Corps of Cadets is one of the nation’s premiere leader-development programs. We mentor cadets who are prepared to lead and trusted to serve.

Cadet Connor Fitzpatrick was chosen as our Clemson game flag cadet for his stewardship of corps values and commitment to others while serving as a squad leader in India Company, where he leads by example and ensures his cadets understand and maintain the standards of the corps.

Let's take a moment to thank our Clemson game Hokie Heroes for their service.

It’s Shadow Day and first-year cadets are running the Corps! The annual event offers an opportunity for first-year cadets to bid on upperclassmen positions to see the responsibilities of their leadership through their own eyes.

The Class of 2030 has reached a major milestone: taking on the Caldwell March. Step by step, these cadets have chosen to stay the course, push through the toughest weeks, and prove that standing on the starting line of this march isn’t given—it’s earned.

[VT Corps of Cadets @VTCorpsofCadets]

Congratulations to Cadet Justin Whitley, our flag cadet for the California game! Whitley was selected for flag cadet duty for his exceptional leadership and service within Echo Company, where he spearheaded safety education and risk management training for the sophomore class.

Shout out to our California game Hokie Heroes! Cmdr. Michael May '10 and Lt. j.g. William Albertson '23 are both deployed to the western Pacific theater onboard USS Scranton where May serves as the executive officer, and Albertson serves as the electrical assistant. Ut Prosim!

[VT Corps of Cadets @VTCorpsofCadets]

Our first-year cadets visited the National D-Day Memorial last Sunday, joined by our Global Scholars who shared their experiences studying abroad in Normandy. It was a powerful day of understanding the true meaning of sacrifice and Ut Prosim (That I May Serve).

We love this tradition and we are extremely proud of these cadets!

As the Hokies took the field Friday night against the University of Pittsburgh, first-year cadets C/Williams, C/Buffoni, & C/Contos stood ready in the south end zone of Lane Stadium to receive the colors. The pregame ceremony continued a longtime tradition celebrating the bond between Virginia Tech Football and the Corps of Cadets, honoring standout performances by both cadets and student-athletes. The three cadets received the American, state, and team spirit flags from three football players selected for their hard work and focus in practice and competition.

We were honored to have the commandant of the Marine Corps join us earlier in the day to meet cadets and then at the game! Semper Fi, sir!

[Commandant of the @USMC @CMC_MarineCorps]

Last night at Virginia Tech, I had the honor of rendering the First Salute and presenting the Commandant’s Trophy to two @VTCorpsofCadets who were top candidates at OCS this summer. These cadets represent the next generation of leaders who will serve the Nation and lead Marines.
