With the pace of tournaments improving so much with Pokemon Champions, I would love to see us go back to having more rounds of swiss and a smaller top cut. It would reduce the impact of tiebreakers in deciding cut and also reduce the impact of pairing luck in deciding cut as well

@skuffey it’s why card shops sell sealed product and don’t just open every box they get. any singles they sell are just so they can 1) get people in the door to look at cool cards or 2) charge above market for in-person immediate-delivery convenience

@skuffey pack opening is never really profitable in any game, unless in very high-variance low-sample-size scenarios. people will always pay a premium to open packs, because they not only get enjoyment and excitement, but they instinctively overestimate the “jackpot” odds
