Accepted a job at a recording studio in my hometown. Currently learning the equipment, meeting the new clients, transferring my current clients and tying up loose ends at my last job of 8 years (training new staff). Come January 2022 I will officially be doing music full time.

You're not hiring mixing engineer to slap some EQs on your track and make it louder with limiter. You mainly (and more importantly) hire him/her for experience, trained ear, good music taste, musical ideas and vision to bring out the best from your music.
