Thambo Mbeki reveals Europe blocked an African country from partnering with South Africa.ย Without naming names, he shares a remarkable story from his time as SA president. An African government had asked for his help to develop a project inspired by Cape Townโs Waterfront. But the deal was torpedoed by a European nation which wanted the contract instead. Mbeki didn't elaborate on why it happened, but many argue Western leverage over Africa stems from the vast sums of foreign aid and investment the continent receives.

The Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality, Limpopo, has announced that three new speed trap cameras will be placed on the N1 and R101. The cameras are set to be placed between Kranskop and Nyl Plaza.
The Municipality says the new speed traps form part of the Municipalityโs ongoing efforts to improve road safety and reduce road traffic incidents on both roads.
During recent festive seasons, a few motorists were arrested for excessive speeding, and hundreds of fines were issued within the Modimolle-Mookgophong Municipality jurisdiction.
Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor Anna Mboweni said the new speed traps will play a big role in ensuring that motorists adhere to road rules.
