Verstappen says more people are starting to see the problems with F1's 2026 regulations

"I’ve been speaking out about these regulations for a very long time. In the beginning, most people said: ‘Oh, he’s just complaining. He should keep his mouth shut.’ But I have to say that in the last few races, more and more people are seeing the same thing that I saw coming a long time ago.

"It’s not about me not winning anymore. It’s simply because I care about the product. I’ve said it many times already, and at a certain point that’s enough, right? But of course people keep asking about it, and maybe it’s not always appreciated.

"But I just say what I think, because you see certain things coming. Then people sometimes say: ‘Ah, but this was a great race.’ Then I say: ‘Yes, but the way we are racing is not really realistic.’ And then you end up at certain circuits where you’re driving with not a lot of horsepower by F1 standards.

"That’s a bit painful, something I’ve seen coming for years. Of course it’s not the most exciting then. But at a certain point I’m also getting a bit tired of repeating myself, because it’s already difficult enough just having to drive with it."
