Alright i went full conspiracy board mode on the RTFKT buyer and something actually interesting popped out

Exploring the trademark holdings, via https://t.co/GtJCg2gIiJ clarified some things.
its not fashion, luxury, sneaker competitor, random web3...

... the trademarks tell a different story 👇

• CLONEX → owned by RTFKT Inc
• RTFKT → still RTFKT Inc
• MNLTH → still Nike
• CryptoKicks → still Nike

and none of the RTFKT marks were assigned to a new company

that means nike didn’t sell the IP…
they sold the company

share transfer, not asset transfer

in layman's terms, the buyer didn’t want the sneaker tech, patents, or product platform
they only wanted the universe

so what kind of buyer accepts that?

not apparel
not footwear competitor
not a patent or tech play
not a liquidation fund

you only take that deal if you want a character franchise

basically Nike kept the product machine and spun out RTFKT as an entertainment studio

CloneX = franchise
not merch line

which honestly lines up way more with
animation / gaming / media strategy than fashion

so yeah… the mystery buyer probably isn’t trying to sell shoes, they’re trying to build a world.

And whilst we're still in the dark, the clues are starting to make an outcome clearer.
