Two new AESA Radar developed for Russian S-350 and S-400 AD system
1 > The 96L6-TsP active phased array radar (AESA radar) and is developed for S-350 air defense missile.
2 > The Yenisei AESA radar developed initially for S-500 is now integrated with S-400 SAM system
3 > The S-350 96L6-TsP radar is reported to consist of two separate active electronically scanned arrays (AESA)—a receiving and transmitting array—as well as three 96L6-VP passive modules. The radar utilizes modern Russian gallium arsenide microwave electronics technology.
4 > The 96L6-VP passive modules are particularly noteworthy as they enable S-350 air defense missile systems to maintain covert combat alert status with the central radar post and 50N6A multifunctional main radar deactivated.
5 > The modules are elevated to a height of 15-20 meters on special folding towers and enable detection and precise positioning of stealth enemy cruise missiles ( e.g. SCALP-EG, Taurus, or Storm Shadow ) or active airborne radars of enemy aircraft
6 > The Yenisei AESA Radar is far more capable AESA Radar based on a multi-element, jam-resistant active phased array (AESA), capable of tracking hypersonic targets moving at altitudes of up to 120 kilometers and speeds of up to 4,800 m/s (17,280 km/h), with potential for increasing this speed to 7,000 m/s (25,200 km/h).
7 > A small LO target with an RCS of 0.05 square meters can be detected by the new Russian radar at a distance of up to 200 kilometers, The Yenisei detects even the most inconspicuous objects, with an RCS of approximately 0.01 square meters, at a distance of up to 150 kilometers which is approximately twice the detection range of the standard S-400 SAM radar
8 > As for standard aircraft and helicopters with an RCS of approximately 5 square meters, they can be detected by the new radar at a range of 550-600 kilometers.
9 >The Yenisei's superior performance is the result of Russian electronics developments in high-power, low-noise microwave transistors on a heat-resistant LTCC ( (Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic) ceramic substrate and is further development of RLM-S and 96L6 PESA radars.
