A thought on language in maths (again 🤓). I think a mistake we make early on in discussion and diagrams is to label the object but not clarify the quality we are measuring (e.g. length, weight, mass, area). The more that is left implicit, the more some pupils are left behind.
Said goodbye to these two 100% legends today. If a picture painted a thousand words it’s this. @BarryNSmith79 bought S this t-shirt for S’s birthday in lockdown as it’s his catchphrase. S says @BarryNSmith79 catchphrases are the reason he got onto his level 1 drama course.
A thought-provoking and poignant speech in assembly this morning from this lady. Students - in front of their peers , speaking confidently demonstrates the journey we never been on over the last two years @hackneynewsch
When you’re lied about you can’t crumble. Always fascinates me that those who love to accuse school leaders of really awful things also often purport to be ‘kind’ & sensitive to the ‘mental health’ of others. Yet they will go out of their way to try to bring others down.
And that’s a proper ‘hns arm’ rather than a dog’s back leg. It’s kind of OAP workout @hackneynewsch. But you know what? I reckon me & Mr R got more energy than all those youngsters in their 40s put together. He’s also v v v good at capitals & a great maths teacher!
