@ChocoExplsn CD more than other Sonic games is about player expression. The fun of CD is very different than a game like S2 where the main point is to get to the end. You really can't "get" CD by playing through it once like you can with 2. CDs biggest flaw is that it doesnt convey that well.
@J0_Sang I'm saying that none of those things are big, meaningful, substantial improvements that would make RS obsolete like people love to claim, and that Emerald in fact introduces some things that I think are actively worse.
@J0_Sang@GreyCaprice Yeah a "sidegrade" just means that they aren't really upgrades. Just different. And the point is that none of the gameplay changes aren't very meaningful. People act like the Em or Plat are way better than the paired versions when really they are marginally better AT BEST.
@GreyCaprice Some of these are sidegrades at best. The Battle Frontier sucks, I'm sorry. It's cool on paper, but really trying to engage with it is miserable. Access to more mons isn't necessarily a real improvement either. The story in E is a downgrade from RS which I think is more important
@Utano30 The new guys dont even have names. Theyre no Giovanni. He isnt coming back. They just refuse to let go. Giving them names and epic designs and saying that "actually Giovanni was about to come back until you went back in time and best him up" is one of the worst things HGSS did.
@Utano30 Gen 2 had one of the better stories in the series if you actually think about it. Its very understated and not flashy at all, but its essentially about a group of deranged losers holding onto something thats just not happening. NuRocket is lame and that's kinda the point. /cont
@MuylleDonald Do you hear yourself? "Johto has a lack of Johto Pokemon." Gen 2 was basically an addition to an already existing region. It wasn't a "new generation" as we know them Gen 3+. The new Pokemon serve to flesh out the existing cast. Houndoom, Slugma, etc are Gen 2 Kanto Pokemon.
@heatfromfire@SkinnyTuna Like most slang it takes some liberty with the original word, but it's pretty clear what it means. Saying it "doesn't make any sense" is just not true.
@DreamyWeegee Because people like you have normalized and rewarded terrible business practices that have actively and are actively harming the industry.
