Every surgery insurance touches gets more expensive. The ones it cannot touch gets cheaper every year.

LASIK, cosmetics, anything the patient pays for directly.

The surgeon competes on price because the customer can actually see it.

Strip out the middleman and the cost falls on its own. Sowell could have drawn the chart.

@DutchRojas When I was younger, I used to think the hospitals must be overcharging so much, and it justified to me why Insurance would scrutinize bills. Now that I know better I realize they are both manipulating the numbers to make more profits. Neither is true priority is healthcare.
