An audit has revealed that private firms have significant control over the Sh104 billion SHA system.
Here is how:
— CarePay: Runs the claims management system and processes claims.
— Safaricom: Provides the digital infrastructure and system integration.
— Apeiro: Manages data exchange and interoperability between health systems.
— Konvergenz Network Solutions: Supports the core ICT systems and platform operations.
— Finsprint: Handles hospital payment processing and payment reconciliation.
— M-TIBA: Manages the digital wallet and member payment platform.
The audit reveals that Finsprint, a private firm involved in the SHA payment system, deducts a 2% fee from every payment made to hospitals before the money is sent.
Strangely, it also says the firm's majority shareholder has no verifiable address.
When 12 people were killed in Charlie Hebdo attacks, World Leaders thronged to Paris for a Solidarity March
But no world leader has organised a march to protest killing 8700 civilians, 569 children, 1120 women, 28 journalists, 376 health workers, and 7 UN peacekeepers in Lebanon
A sharp decline in student numbers has hit universities four years after President William Ruto’s new funding model was introduced, exposing deep cracks in the system.
Data from the Ministry of Education shows that university enrolment has fallen to a seven-year low.

How Nairobi County lost KSH 17 billion, or 55% of the entire budget, in 2024-2025:
Step # 1: Lose KSH 6.6 billion through illegal salaries.
The county of Nairobi employes about 16,000 people. This is about 0.3% of the county’s population of 4.6 million.
The legal limit for spending on salaries as a percentage of revenue is 35%. In 2024-2025, Nairobi County spent KSH 18.3 billion on salaries alone, which is 55% of the entire budget.
This led to the diversion of KSH 6.6 billion from initiatives designed to serve citizens.
To appreciate the true impact of this diversion, consider that since devolution, KSH 47.7 billion in money has been lost this way in Nairobi County.
Step # 2. Lose KSH 840 million through unsupported “salaries and wages”.
Nairobi County could not substantiate KSH 840 million in claimed salaries and wages.
No names, no ID numbers, no departments, nothing.
Step # 3. Lose KSH 90.58 million in claimed “benefits and allowances” – that do not have any documentation.
No names, addresses, or departments.

The Greatest Man to walk the continent of Africa Patrice Lumumba was born on this day 101 years ago. The first president of Congo he was murdered and dismembered by British and Belgian colonialism then dissolved in acid.
Families in Kenya are demanding answers after rights groups reported a series of alleged enforced disappearances following anti-government demonstrations.
The government says it is investigating the reports while denying responsibility.
AN INNOCENT LIFE CUT SHORT. JUSTICE FOR LAURA WESONGA MUST NOT WAIT
I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Ms. Laura Wesonga, a KMTC Busia Campus student, who was fatally shot during a police operation in Marachi Estate, Busia Town yesterday evening. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, fellow students, and the people of Busia.
The police have a constitutional duty to protect life. No law enforcement operation should result in the loss of innocent lives. Every operation must be conducted with professionalism, restraint, and full respect for the Constitution.
I therefore call for an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation by @IPOA_KE with any officer found responsible held fully accountable. The @NPSOfficial_KE operations should be intelligence led, professional policing that protects innocent citizens while firmly dealing with crime.
The political temperatures in Busia must cool down immediately. I urge political leaders across Busia and the wider nation to fully embrace democracy. In a democracy, dissent is a right. Not everyone must support you. Using hired goons to intimidate rivals and settle political scores is primitive, illegal, and unacceptable.
#JusticeforLauraWesonga must be swift, transparent, and uncompromising. The people of Busia deserve security, accountability, and respect for the sanctity of human life.
Contrary to what we have been told, SGR was fully funded by Kenyans to the tune of Sh900 billion.
SGR did not cost Sh360 billion, and no money came from China. We want to know why we are “repaying” a loan for which no single cent came to Kenya.
PRESS STATEMENT BY SENATOR OKIYA OMTATAH ON THE PUBLIC DEBT CASE RULING
Fellow Kenyans,
Today, the High Court delivered an important ruling in our public debt case.
The Court upheld the @IMFNews claim of diplomatic immunity and struck it out of this petition. While we respect the Court’s decision, accountability for Kenya’s debt burden cannot end there.
We are preparing a separate legal challenge to the Bretton Woods Agreements Act, 1963, against the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to ensure all actors involved in Kenya’s debt processes are subjected to proper scrutiny.
Most importantly, the Court rejected attempts by the Attorney General and other respondents to have this case dismissed. The judges ruled that our petition will proceed to a full hearing on its merits.
The Court also dismissed applications by the former Auditor General, former Controller of Budget, the current Auditor General, and the current Controller of Budget seeking to shield themselves from these proceedings.
This is a significant victory for transparency, accountability, and the Kenyan people.
We will amend our petition as directed by the Court and return on 22nd July 2026. Our mission remains unchanged: to establish how Kenya accumulated trillions in public debt, how the funds were utilized , whether the public benefited and whether the law was followed at every stage.
This case is about protecting the future of our nation and the interests of every Kenyan taxpayer.
We remain focused, determined, and committed to seeing it through.
God Bless Kenya.
