Work was supposed to start on the stadium and shopping development last year, but pictures from the site show few signs of life https://t.co/zwBCn38eD4
@dougiesut10@sportsstars123@neilw6970@MyWakefield Don't bother mate. I shouldn't have bitten. Don't feed the Troll! He says he understands completely, if he does then he wouldn't need to ask daft questions he has been given answers to numerous times. If you do he will rubbish the facts anyway, he is just trolling. Journalist! 🤣
@sportsstars123@neilw6970@MyWakefield Please explain the facts (or at least your version of them) to us please? Given you don't appear to know any facts in relation to the historical & current positions in relation to a community stadium in the city, I am not holding my breath!
@sportsstars123@MyWakefield You have had this explained to you before, but you seem to struggle to understand the basic history & current position. A worry for someone who seems to fancy themselves as a journalist! No one as EVER asked the council for tax payers money and no one is now...
Wishing one and all a Happy New Year! As you look back over the year and Christmas, what was the one thing you wished the Council had improved in your community? Click on the link and tell us. Deadline for responses in midnight 6th January. #Wakefield https://t.co/tRRCtoy6EF

Why has circa £500k (when you look at the whole monies spent to date) of public money been spent & with nothing to show for it? So, who's job was it to enforce the agreement & why wasn't it🤔?
@FlatCapperette@GavWilson via your local taxes contributed £125k of public money which Mr Box authorised be paid to said developer. Unfortunately, it is this misinformation that actually fuels further resentment between the club's supporters & does them all a disservice.
@FlatCapperette@GavWilson land, they were to build a community sports facility in return for the millions they would still make, even after building this facility. 3rd - To date that developer hasn't spent even £1 on doing anything of any substance. 4th - however, YOU as a citizen of WMDC have (cont)
@GavWilson@FlatCapperette Sorry Jo, Gav is correct. 1st - it was always supposed to be a community asset, never owned by a private ltd company (unlike Castleford incidentally) & held in Trust with Trinity as anchor long term Tennant. 2nd - In return for release 95 hectares of low value agricultural (cont)
Breaking: Wakefield Council leader Peter Box is standing down from his role after 21 years in charge.
I understand Coun Box told his Cabinet at a meeting last week, just before it was announced he was to be the new chair of Welcome to Yorks.
Staff told a few mins ago.
