Making a book about our predictable chart “The Giant Squid” from 20,000 leagues under the sea. My director gave me very clear directions. “Ms. Davies scared. Go down.”
Using realia to teach “The Gold Bug.” We used treasure maps with invisible ink. My student found you could only see the “street” with the “light.” Then you can find “money,” get “rich” and use a “credit card.” #aac#readtopia
We went to target to get toys for the @whsinteract_ toy drive! We made a budget, chose a toy and made a purchase. I hope someone shares our students’ love for Uno and play dough!
Halloween is a great day to launch our adapted novel study of Frankenstein! Today we introduced some of the themes of choices, friendship, appearance and science ethics! And made predictions about “the creature!”
I love using wordless books with my AAC users and they loved this one: Field Trip to The Moon @APS_AsTech. I captured a couple of great spontaneous comments!
So proud of my graduate, who was SO engaged during the ceremony. Check out some of his related spontaneous comments! AAC: helping ALL kids have side conversations during graduation! @wakefield_2022
Will we have a 3D printer in that Amazon maker space at Wakefield? This would be a great project for students to learn about alternative communication and technology!
Living things have cells! We looked a paper leaf and a leaf from a plant in a microscope and compared it to a picture of a plant cell. We talked about which were the “same” and “different” and which “is” living and “not” living @AttainmentCo @APSscience
Testing out our solar ovens! Compared our “big” and “little” ovens to see if all, some or none of our s’mores melted. A tasty way to learn about alternative energy sources while practicing core vocabulary!
