I earned $120K a year working for Shell in 2012.
Ten years and multiple promotions later, in 2022, that figure has doubled to $240K a year.
In 2023, I stumbled on an internal, confidential, document that showed the salaries of my superiors.
I saw that even if I were promoted multiple times again, the best I could hope for in another 10 years was another doubling to around $480K a year.
This may sound crazy saying it out loud but that wasn’t cutting it for me.
I simply didn’t want the next 10 years to be a repeat of the last 10.
I wanted geometric progression, not an arithmetic one.
On my 40th birthday, in 2023, I was asked to make a wish as a blew the candles on my birthday cake.
“Get the hell out of Shell,” I quietly whispered. Months later, I was out.
In 2024, my businesses grossed $500K; in 2025, they did $1M - geometric progression.
It required me to be delusional about my abilities, to bank on the faithfulness of God and to trust that inner voice that always nag at me that I could be more, I could do more and I could have more.
I flew into Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport expecting eight-lane highways, high-rise buildings and high-speed trains. American movies had prepared me very well.
I stepped out and saw cows.
I felt like I had bought the wrong ticket.
Then an ice storm took our power for a week.
That same place gave me a PhD and friends I still have today.
Your first impression of a place is almost never the truth about it.

I'm happy to sign as guarantor.
Most people assume startups die because a competitor beats them. In practice, that is one of the rarer causes of death.
Startups mostly die from the inside. They run out of money. The founders stop trusting each other. The thing takes longer than anyone's patience or savings allowed for. Post-mortems of failed companies consistently show the killers are internal: no real market need, cash gone, wrong team, co-founders at war, far more often than 'a rival crushed us.'
This matches what I have watched up close for years. People obsess over the external threat, the competitor, the market, the economy, because it is the enemy you can point at and blame. The internal threats are harder to look at, because looking at them means looking at yourself and the people you chose.
A CEO's real job, past a certain size, is almost entirely internal. Not out-strategising some rival, but keeping a group of talented, anxious, occasionally difficult humans rowing the same direction long enough for the strategy to matter. Most 'strategy problems' at struggling companies are, on closer inspection, trust and communication problems wearing a strategy costume.
The uncomfortable version: the competitor is usually not why you lose. You are, or the people you did not manage well enough are.
Which is oddly good news, if you can stomach it. You have far more control over your own coordination, your cash discipline, your co-founder relationships, than you will ever have over the market. The call is coming from inside the house, and the inside of the house is the one place you are actually allowed to renovate.
Worry less about the enemy at the gate. Most companies were an inside job.
Since this Book dropped, I’ve been grinding, posting, DMing, and marketing like a proper salesman, but sales are still not hitting the target my my CEO and Author gave me😭
How do I meet my target like this? Cos she made it very clear: Meet the target or forfeit that “very nice” thing I promised you 😩
So family, friends, lovers, mutuals, colleagues, and even the silent scrollers, I’m officially in panic mode. Help me close this deal before I lose my “very nice” reward.
Buy the book, tag a friend, or just reply “I want to order one or more copies for my kids and neighbours” so I can report good news tonight. A copy is 30,000.
How to order:
Just pay the sum of 30,000 ( or as many copies as you wish to buy) into this account:
Bank: Stanbic IBTC Bank
Account Name: Muhammed Lateefat Omonegho
Account Number: 0023191500
DM the receipt of payment and delivery address (the delivery fee is not part of the 30,000) and your copies will be delivered to your doorsteps.
Thank you 🙏
NVIDIA almost hitting $5T is crazy enough, but SpaceX sitting at a $2.15T valuation while still being a private company is the real story here. History in the making.
@SirJarus@aluck101 Can you send me the same book or if you have a more preferred one ?
And that would be a deal in few years to come to quote “Sir J book I read that changed my trajectory”
