NEW: The Yemeni government, backed by Saudi air power and international coalition military support, launched an offensive to capture Mokha city and secure the coastline along the Bab al Mandeb Strait on October 4. This offensive will likely succeed in capturing Mokha in the short term. Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government likely launched the offensive to accomplish the limited objective of securing the Bab al Mandeb. (1/2)

Other Key Takeaways:

Yemeni government-aligned forces will likely stop offensive operations within the next seven to 14 days to rest, resupply, and consolidate their positions to prevent a Houthi counteroffensive.

The Yemeni government will need to secure its own defensible line before its offensive culminates in order to ensure it can repel Houthi attacks combining drones and ground forces, which the Houthis employed in early September.

Allied air and intelligence support almost certainly made this offensive possible. Over 100 Saudi aircraft provided air support to Yemeni government-aligned forces during the initial assault, and US intelligence is reportedly supporting the air campaign.

Saudi allies in the Mecca Pact are providing military aid to Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia announced on October 5 that Pakistan and Turkey are taking “practical measures” to defend Saudi Arabia pursuant to the Mecca Pact requirements.

The Iranian regime appears increasingly concerned that mounting economic pressure could threaten internal stability and is combining its attempts to manage its wartime economy with expanded efforts to deter and prepare to suppress possible unrest.

Iran is likely reconstituting and enhancing its ability to target distant US regional military targets and commercial shipping through improvements in missile accuracy, range, speed, and targeting capabilities.

Iran is likely aiming to increase its ability to deter US airstrikes targeting Iranian assets, impose costs on the United States, and preserve strategic initiative in the conflict by prioritizing improvements to its missile capabilities.

Stellt sich raus:

Die Labore die gefährliche Biowaffen herstellen stehen gar nicht in der Ukraine, sondern in Russland!

Der russische Trick hat wie immer leider gut funktioniert:
Einfach dem Gegner vorwerfen, was man selbst macht.
Bei der AfD und bei den MAGA glauben es genug.

Police special forces in Kharkiv Oblast evacuated a cat from a front-line position after carrying him over 11 kilometers on foot while navigating threats from Russian FPV drones, regional police reported.

The cat had stayed with the officers since spring, receiving food and vaccinations from the team. As logistics worsened and winter approached, police decided to evacuate the animal during a unit rotation, walking through fields and thickets while pausing to take cover from Russian forces drones.

Today, on the occasion of Education Workers’ Day, I presented state awards to our educators. I wanted to personally congratulate all our teachers, all the men and women working in Ukrainian education – everyone who nurtures, teaches, and truly shapes our future – Ukraine’s future, which lies first and foremost in our people, in our next generations. In our people’s knowledge, skills, and values, in their ability to work together and maintain the kinds of relationships and rules in our society that will make it more cohesive.

Once again, congratulations on your professional holiday. I wish for all our people, all our children, to be able to return to normal education as soon as possible – in peace, in safety, with a guaranteed future. We are all working toward this.

For the haters saying $20k is “nothing”:

$20k can make a real difference for people affected by the earthquake in Venezuela. It could mean around $340 in direct assistance for nearly 60 people, or help provide families with food, clean water, medicine, hygiene supplies and temporary shelter while they recover from the disaster.

$20k can make a HUGE difference to people who actually need it. But like I said, they’re just too committed to holding on to their favorite scapegoat: Noah.
