The Russell Broncos (2A, 3-0) are off to their best start in years, moving to 3-0 with a 28-6 win over Plainville on Friday. Last 3-0 start was 2000. The Broncos have already matched their win total from all of last season under head coach Cole Greenwood. Senior quarterback Trey Zorn had a huge night, accounting for all three of Russell’s touchdowns through the air. He finished 18-of-25 passing for 352 yards, averaging an impressive 19.6 yards per completion. Senior receiver Sam Thielen was his top target, hauling in 3 receptions for 135 yards and 2 TDs. The Broncos will look to continue their undefeated run when they host Larned on Friday. #sportsinkansas
