Did you know? @WalkRideGM supports several #SchoolStreets, enabling healthier, happier children to walk, wheel or cycle to school - & lowering parents' stress!
To help us facilitate these & much more, we're now gratefully receiving online donations: https://t.co/SMXlXFGvSb
πΆπ» π΄ π² St Thomas Infant and Junior School in the Heatons are currently taking part in a School Streets trial.
We took a trip down this morning to see how they were getting on before the half-term break.

Who is free on Monday 5th June at 6pm to attend the next @StockportMBC walking and cycling forum? Officers will be sharing the designs for new schemes including the Romiley to Stockport cycle route, and we want to make sure some Romiley-ites are there to scrutinise them.
@Danflashes2 We are waiting for the designs from the council to see what they are actually going to build. As soon as we know, we will share them (and our thoughts).
Get in! Romiley is to finally get a safe cycle route into Stockport, thanks to our hard work and advocacy, which began with two local children attempting the route as it currently looks https://t.co/fAZ8fCAPy7
π₯³ GM has been awarded Β£40.7m for new walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure - with four Stockport schemes being given the go-ahead.

Our latest newsletter, featuring our Coronation Street Party media blitz, info about the new cycle route to Stockport and our free bike fixing session tomorrow https://t.co/GGKn3D2qzQ
Just been out putting up posters for our big bike fix tomorrow. We have mechanics who will repair your bike for FREE at Romiley @aircadets HQ on Tangshutt Lane from 9.30am to 1pm tomorrow.
We fought for it and now, finally, we are getting it. Today's announcement about @activetraveleng funding our safe cycle route to Stockport is a great win for community campaigning, particularly for our youngest residents @Chris_Boardman@WalkRideGM π
William and Alice were nine when they first tested out what we hoped would be a safe cycle route from Romiley to Stockport - they're both teenagers now that the route is finally going to be built! @SMBC_chiefexec@WalkRideGM@StockportMBC https://t.co/fAZ8fCAPy7

We have asked @StockportMBC for more information on the final route. The scheme is now called Romiley to Stockport East, which sounds a bit ominous. Hope it takes us safely all the way into town. Still - a great (albeit delayed) result for grassroots campaigning. @SMBC_chiefexec
Whoop - @activetraveleng has given @greatermcr money to build the Romiley to Stockport cycle route we fought hard for back in the mists of time (before Covid!) It passed consultation back in 2021 but then @StockportMBC ran out of cash. We are looking forward to seeing the plans.
