✨ Author Spotlight: Shaun Michael Waller - @Wallerthewriter

By day, he's a chef in Cambridge. For the past ten years, he's also been a writer - one who freely admits he wasn't good at it at first, and kept going anyway. Learning, improving, refusing to put the pen down.

Then he found Inkitt, and the doors opened. He reached his first 1,000 reads and remembers the unforgettable moment a reader on the other side of the world found his book - proof that a story written in a Cambridge kitchen could reach anyone, anywhere. Now he's chasing a bigger dream: seeing one of his stories make it to the screen on CandyJar.

And his writing is deeply personal. His book Frequent Bond follows two half-brothers who set out to get in shape and end up fighting for everything - inspired by Shaun and his own brother, Steven. In Bridge Street, the characters are real people and the setting is the city he calls home.

Best of all, Shaun lifts others as he climbs - giving a percentage of what he make on Inkitt to charity and helping fellow writers grow their own readerships.
His advice to anyone sitting on a story? "Go for it. Publish your book. Don't be scared."
