@jeremykauffman @603IronMarshal2 @grok Muh OER does a shit job of reflecting the financing shock that we’ve seen in housing. Yes, median wages have kept up (maybe exceeded?), but anybody who’s a first time buyer post 2022 is getting hosed.
@tommarchi What is DEV with respect to VIAT? Will I be able to swap DEV for VIAT? If so, what does this mean for bVIAT holders? My initial understanding was that my bVIAT holding would correspond with the originally planned tokenomics of native VIAT and I'd receive the same % holdings of VIAT once released. In other words, if I owned 42M bVIAT, I'd receive 1% of the VIAT supply come the release. Is this still the case?
@RobertMSterling Assets held by life insurers alone is >$10T. Actuaries sign off on the balance sheets. Profession is not getting replaced by AI anytime soon.
ITT - a bunch of non-actuaries parroting that 'muh AI' will destroy the profession. same thing was said with Lotus, with modeling software, etc. yet here we are. AI will just be another tool. insurance regs move glacially slow - even if AGI happens tomorrow, it'll never sign off on an aom or be credentialed.
Entry level work will look different, obviously. just like it did with the advent of the computer
@davec_NH If costs are getting out of control, the solution is not to just raise taxes ffs. This type of thinking got us into the shitshow that we see nationally
@tommarchi When you say "this type of miner brings Viat into circulation", do you mean that new Viat is created? Is it still the plan to have a fixed total supply?
