Police say the suspect tried to conceal the crime before later confessing and leading investigators to the grave site. He has since appeared in court on a murder charge.

Police are appealing for public assistance to trace a man known only as “Tsumbeza”, who is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a Motheo TVET College student at a guest house in Botshabelo, Free State.

The woman was shot in the leg and died a week later from her injuries.

At the time of the incident, Tsumbeza was allegedly driving a white Toyota RAV4 (registration SVM 595 GP) and was accompanied by another man known as Tenda, who was reportedly the deceased’s boyfriend.

The pair are believed to be in Gauteng or Limpopo.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Thabo Litsoane, on 079 606 7820, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or report anonymously via the MySAPS App.
