Why is the X platform choosing to favor and strongly develop in Japan right now?
This is a question that quite a few Japanese people are also asking themselves.
According to my personal speculation, it has something to do with the fourth plague among the ten plagues (or “days of darkness”) mentioned in the Book of Revelation.
The fourth day of darkness corresponds to the fourth plague that struck Egypt in the Book of Exodus (Old Testament). That fourth plague is linked to the god Khepri: the Morning Sun God.
Japan’s national flag, the Hinomaru, symbolizes the round sun and stands for values such as purity and integrity.
Yet in modern Japanese society, industries related to sex operate openly as completely legal businesses. This directly contradicts the symbolic meaning of purity associated with the image of the sun.
Japan also has a unique tradition: the Emperor system, in which the imperial family is mythologically regarded as descendants of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu, a symbol of the nation and the unity of its people.
When a platform like X expands aggressively in Japan under the banner of freedom of speech, where people can express their thoughts almost without limits, society will inevitably face major changes.
Freedom of expression allows the “self” to be shown to the world, but it can also reveal humanity’s darkest sides if there is no self-control. If traditional values are no longer respected, society will gradually lose its moral balance.
What follows naturally is the strong rise of extreme individualism, ostentation, and a “we are the center of the universe” mindset - all of which run counter to the humility and discipline that have long been hallmarks of Japanese culture.
Especially when the more attention and prominence you gain, the more money you earn, they are directly proportional.
Many people speculate that X is focusing on Japan purely for economic benefits and future investment gains, but I don’t see it that way. To me, there is a deep, hidden danger here. This is a critical period of moral and social-order testing for nations.
Japan is becoming the first pilot market for these major shifts in media and social networking. If this model is deemed successful, it could quickly spread to many other countries.
I am not a moral philosopher or someone who condemns and judges others, this is simply my personal perspective.
But the way I see it, if you want to post things on the X platform to grow, earn money, and support yourself and your family, try to share the good and beautiful aspects of humanity and society. Share things that bring joy to people and promote positive, pure spiritual values.
That will bring benefits to us in the future.
Just like the saying “you reap what you sow,” one day we will receive back the good things we have planted and nurtured.
Imagine if future generations, our own children and grandchildren, spend all day immersed in social media, constantly searching for or creating negative, psychologically stimulating content.
Posts that sexualize or glorify personal narcissism, while showing no respect for the traditional moral values of family and the teachings passed down by our ancestors.
How would you feel then?
Don’t chase after and worship Mammon, or you will fall.
