@BenFordhamLive No Ben, you are ill-informed. Gas is not the transitional fuel, it is methane and is the most warming of greenhouse gases, particularly in the short term pushing us over the edge of livable climate. Gas industry has a huge number of lobbyists & PR who have done a number on you.

Based on Santos’ equity share of the Moomba CCS project and assuming it operates at maximum capacity, emissions injected by Moomba CCS would only be equivalent to 3.27% of Santos’ 2024 overall emissions.

Santos has walked back emissions targets in its latest climate report, and is using carbon capture and storage (CCS) as a smokescreen for expanding gas production.

Any emissions captured by Moomba CCS will be a drop in the ocean compared with Santos' current annual emissions.
