Ein paar Punkte zu Ceuta.

Ceuta ist nicht Europa 🇪🇺. Ceuta ist eine Enklave Spaniens 🇪🇸 in Nordafrika im histor. Marokko, ein Überbleibsel der spanischen Kolonialherrschaft.

Der Zeitpunkt ist relevant. Spaniens Premier Pedro Sanchez besuchte vor einigen Tagen nach vier Jahren erstmals wieder Algerien 🇩🇿, Marokkos Rivalen in der Region, was dem marokkanischen König 🇲🇦 nicht gefällt.

Spanien hat aktuell extrem schlechte Beziehungen zu 🇮🇱 und den USA 🇺🇸. Zwei der engsten politischen Partner des marokkanischen Königs. Dass Israel und die USA ein Interesse an Problemen für Spanien haben, liegt auf der Hand.

Die Emotion der Menschen in Ceuta ist echt. Selbst wenn einige geschickt worden wären, versuchen Tausende ihr Glück. Die Jugend sieht in Marokko kaum Zukunft und will um jeden Preis weg.

Rechte labern von „Invasion“. Wer in Ceuta einreist - selbst legal - ist offiziell noch nicht in die EU eingereist. Ceuta gehört nicht zum Schengen-Raum und um von dort aufs spanische Festland zu gelangen, braucht man Visum oder positiven Asylprozess. Spanien und Marokko verkündeten bereits, alle Personen zurückzuführen.

Das Geschehen hat somit keine konkreten Folgen. Außer dass weltweit gegen Sanchez, Spanien, Migranten und Muslime gehetzt wird. Man kann sich also selbst zusammenreimen, wessen Interessen aktuell bedient werden.

Mon grand-père a pris un éclat d’obus durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, ce qui l’a handicapé, avec des éclats de métal dans la jambe. Il en a souffert jusqu’à sa mort en 1965… Il n’a rien eu, des années de démarches juste pour obtenir une pension misérable.

Rouve, lui, a la Légion d’honneur, parce qu’il faisait le teubé avec les Robins des Bois, et il est là à pleurer comme s’il avait tué un lion à mains nues.

Vivement la fin de leur système et de leurs cérémonies bidon.

This is probably the most important article of the month: an op-ed by Oman's Foreign Minister, who mediated the talks between the U.S. and Iran, in which he writes that the U.S. "has lost control of its foreign policy" to Israel.

He repeats that a deal was possible as an outcome of the talks (something confirmed by the UK's National Security Advisor, who also attended: https://t.co/XkfSpkMjCf) and that the military strike by the U.S. and Israel was "a shock."

Interestingly, given he is one of Iran's neighbors and given that Oman has been struck multiple times by Iran since the war began (https://t.co/IXNdwD6f3j), he writes that "Iran’s retaliation against what it claims are American targets on the territory of its neighbours was an inevitable result" of the U.S.-Israeli attack. He describes it as "probably the only rational option available to the Iranian leadership."

He says the war "endangers" the region's entire "economic model in which global sport, tourism, aviation and technology were to play an important role." He adds that "if this had not been anticipated by the architects of this war, that was surely a grave miscalculation."

But, he adds, the "greatest miscalculation" of all for the U.S. "was allowing itself to be drawn into this war in the first place."

In his view this was the doing of "Israel’s leadership" who "persuaded America that Iran had been so weakened by sanctions, internal divisions and the American-Israeli bombings of its nuclear sites last June, that an unconditional surrender would swiftly follow the initial assault and the assassination of the supreme leader."

Obviously, this proved completely wrong, and the U.S. is now in a quagmire. He says that, given this, "America’s friends have a responsibility to tell the truth," which is that "there are two parties to this war who have nothing to gain from it," namely "Iran and America."

He says that all of the U.S. interests in the region (end to nuclear proliferation, secure energy supply chains, investment opportunities) are "best achieved with Iran at peace."

As he writes, "this is an uncomfortable truth to tell, because it involves indicating the extent to which America has lost control of its own foreign policy. But it must be told."

He then proposes a couple of paths to get back to the negotiating table, although he recognizes how difficult it would be for Iran "to return to dialogue with an administration that twice switched abruptly from talks to bombing and assassination."

That's perhaps the most profound damage Trump did during this entire episode: the complete discrediting of diplomacy. If Iran was taught anything, it is: don't negotiate with the U.S., it's a trap that will literally kill you.

The great irony of the man who sold himself as a dealmaker is that he taught the world one thing: don't make deals with my country.

Un homme, probablement âgé de plus de quatre-vingts ans, faisait la queue au distributeur automatique. Je me suis placé derrière lui et, lorsque son tour est arrivé, je l’ai vu sortir une enveloppe, probablement contenant de l’argent.
Je l’observais à distance, avec respect. J’ai tout de suite compris que quelque chose n’allait pas : il touchait l’écran à plusieurs reprises, mais semblait désorienté. Il n’arrivait pas à terminer l’opération. Il s’est retourné vers la file, désormais plus longue, m’a regardé — j’étais juste derrière lui — et d’un seul geste, timide et digne, il m’a demandé de l’aide.
Je me suis approché aussitôt, avec toute la délicatesse possible. Il a hoché la tête et murmuré un « s’il vous pla��t » presque inaudible. Il m’a profondément touché. Je l’ai aidé de bon cœur, en lui expliquant pas à pas où appuyer, en prenant soin toutefois de ne jamais toucher à son argent. Je ne voulais même pas effleurer un seul billet : par respect, par délicatesse, pour éviter toute confusion.
Il voulait effectuer un dépôt. Je lui ai indiqué les étapes et, calmement, il a réussi à saisir le montant. Il a terminé l’opération avec un sentiment de satisfaction et moi, à ses côtés, je lui ai montré où appuyer pour conclure. Une fois terminé, nous nous sommes déplacés pour laisser la place aux personnes qui attendaient.
Il m’a remercié d’un regard bienveillant. Je lui ai souri et lui ai dit que cela avait été un plaisir. Mais avant de partir, avec un geste qui m’a serré le cœur, il a glissé la main dans la poche de sa veste, sorti son portefeuille et m’a tendu un billet de dix euros.
Je suis resté surpris, presque incrédule. J’ai refusé immédiatement :
« Je vous en prie, ce n’est pas nécessaire, vraiment. »
Il a insisté. Il voulait m’offrir le petit-déjeuner, a-t-il dit, pour me remercier à sa façon. Je l’ai regardé dans les yeux, je l’ai remercié avec affection, mais je ne pouvais pas accepter. Il a rangé le billet, m’a remercié encore une fois et nous nous sommes salués.
En le voyant s’éloigner, un nœud est resté en moi. Un profond sentiment de mélancolie. J’ai pensé à lui et à tous les personnes âgées qui se retrouvent seules face à un monde toujours plus numérique, impitoyable, inaccessible.
Eux — nos pères, nos grands-parents — ont construit le pays dans lequel nous vivons. Et aujourd’hui, ils se retrouvent exclus, perdus devant un écran, dans une banque, dans un hôpital, dans les administrations. Ils n’arrivent plus à accéder à des services qu’ils ont contribué à créer, après une vie de travail, de sacrifices, de devoirs.
Et nous ? Où sommes-nous ? Que nous coûte-t-il d’aider, de nous arrêter cinq minutes, de leur rendre la journée un peu plus légère ?
Il est triste, profondément triste, de voir comment ces personnes sont abandonnées, oubliées, ignorées. Toute cette technologie nous fait perdre l’essentiel : l’humanité. Nous devenons froids, distants, inhumains.
Ceux qui gouvernent devraient intervenir immédiatement. Il est inacceptable de traiter ainsi ceux qui ont tout donné, toute leur vie. C’est honteux.
Nous avons rempli le monde d’innovation, mais nous vidons les cœurs.
