#NewProfilePic We're dropping the "network" for our WA state entity. Same folks, same deep organizing, shorter easier-to-say-and-type name!
"Network" might make a comeback for us on an upcoming national project though... ??? That's all we're saying for now!
We signed onto a letter submitted in the House Judiciary hearing on “Digital Dragnets: Examining the Government’s Access to Your Personal Data"👉🏽 Read @TeamDDL's Letter Here: https://t.co/KUYBoNKmYt
WA PPN is newly founded, we pinned this branding on @WAprivacy initially as we puzzled out the organizing entities our ongoing non-partisan legislative advocacy needs, vs what a solidly left, intersectional & educational people's network would need. 🤝 We work in solidarity! 1/
Meanwhile, LexisNexis & pride-washing: Intersectionality? While LexisNexis allows ICE to skirt sanctuary laws? Let's ask lgbtqia+ folks who've been criminalized, detained, terrorized and deported about that #allyship. @WAprivacy@ConMijente

@StaussDavid @Siliconlaw @jduballreports March 8 late-night update #waleg privacy update:
@Siliconlaw reports that bill sponsors say that no privacy legislation will pass this year. @jduballreports confirms with his sources.
More details at https://t.co/7G4qiBvmMW
So here's my sense for the state of play for the most active state privacy bills this year:
Alive and well: CT, OK, IA
Living a quiet, secluded life on the prairie: MA, NY, OH, KY, TN
Treading water: MD
Dead as a doornail: FL, WA, WI
Still to come: MN
I can confirm @Siliconlaw’s reporting through my sources. Despite the Washington Privacy Act sub today, the debate is just too much to overcome in two days. And IMO as stated when session opened, cluttered bill landscape proved to be a downfall with too many cooks in the kitchen.
