Following a wonderful weekend of events, the Pledge of Friendship between Ware and Cormeilles-en-Parisis has been re-signed. Congratulations go to Thomas Day, Mayor of Ware, for giving a speech in French despite not speaking the language. @WareTownCouncil@VilleCormeilles
@WareTownCouncil Mayor Rishi Fernando’s Civic Dinner last night. It was a wonderful event. It was made extra special to have our friends over from @VilleCormeilles for the first time in three years! Vive l’amitié ! Vive le jumelage !
Great to see the traditional Wulfrath/Ware annual joint swimming gala resume on Wednesday afternoon at Fanshawe Pool. Welcome to 45 swimmers from our twin town Wulfrath with 70 participating from Ware Swimming Club @wareswim who organised the event.
@WareTwinning Looking forward to visiting Ware Museum on Wednesday afternoon and seeing the Town Twinning exhibition. Also good to celebrate that the museum has been regularly open again after having to close for much of the pandemic.
Hello all,
As some of you may know, this year marks our 50th Anniversary of our Twinning with Wülfrath and our 20th Anniversary of Twinning with Cormeilles-en-Parisis. To mark the occasion we will be hosting a ceremony on 19/09/21 online (details to follow). [1/3]
@WareTwinning Next Sunday will also see us renewing our pledges of friendship with Wülfrath and Cormeilles-en-Parisis in an online event - it was originally planned as a full reunion in Ware but was changed given the pandemic's effect on travel. Fortunately the internet knows no borders!
@WareTwinning The Ware Museum special exhibition on Town Twinning opens tomorrow, celebrating the 50th anniversary of our twinning with Wulfrath and the 20th with Cormeilles. Another good reason to visit Ware Museum! Open 2-4 pm Sat, Sun, Tues, Wed every week. Free entry (donations welcome).
There is also an exhibition at the Ware Museum about the history of town twinning. There is a section on the exchanges and links between Chauncy School - Official Facebook Page and Collège Jacques Daguerre and a section on the Ware and Wülfrath Swimming Clubs. [2/3]

We are now planning for an in-person celebration to be held in Spring 2022 when we hope to have greater certainty. In the meantime, we are planning to have an online event to mark the occasion in September this year. Details will be given in due course. [3/3]
UPDATE
With regret, due to the uncertainty around what restrictions will be lifted domestically in the coming weeks and months in France, Germany & the UK, and the further uncertainty around the moving of countries to and from the UK's 'green list', [1/3]
in conjunction with @WareTownCouncil, we have taken the decision to CANCEL our plans to a hold joint ceremony to mark the 50th & 20th anniversaries with our German and French twin towns, respectively. [2/3]
However, more committee members will be welcome. If you would like to be considered please contact Pete Smith ([email protected]) before 21 June. [3/3]
