#CrazyKalyanam Gets a VeryGood Response From Audience and Bookings Also Going on a Good Note

#CrazyKalyanam is a decent rural comedy-drama that takes its time to settle in but turns into an enjoyable watch once the main plot kicks in.

The initial portions are sluggish, with very little happening to hold our interest. But director Badrappa designs an interesting conflict and builds the drama around it quite well. The comedy is silly at times, but it fits the innocence of the characters and the rural setting. The film also has some refreshing ideas and manages to surprise us at important moments.

Naresh is terrific, especially in a beautifully executed long take where his performance holds the emotion without a cut. Anupama Parameswaran impresses with her choice of role and performance, while Tharun gradually makes us forget the actor and see only the character. Suresh Bobbili’s music adds a lot to the proceedings.

The pacing could have been better, particularly in the first half, but the father-daughter emotion, rooted humour and satisfying final stretch make it work.

Overall, a simple, laid-back entertainer with genuine warmth. If you enjoy rural dramas with lighthearted comedy and uncomplicated emotions, #CrazyKalyanam is worth a try.
